Kim Jong-un Plastic Surgery

The supreme leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea Kim Jong-un is rumored to have undergone plastic surgery to make himself appear older than his actual age.

According to the British tabloid The Daily Mail, Jong-un, now 32, wanted to look like his much older grandfather Kim Il-sung and that's the reason he went under the plastic surgeon's knife.

The heir to the North Korean regime spent time away from the spotlight and lately pictures of him surfaced showing him quite different. Media outlets indicated Jong-un's striking resemblance to North Korea's founder and former leader Kim Il-sung.

"A lot of people in South Korea have pointed out that Kim's face is very different from when he was young, particularly the shape of his chin," professor and expert on North Korea at Tokyo's Waseda University Toshimitsu Shigemura explained.

"From previous photos, everyone had remarked that he looked nothing like his grandfather, so the change is quite dramatic," Shigemura revealed to the Daily Mail.

We should take into consideration, however, that family members tend to look like one another.

Dr. Paul S. Nassif, a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and Rhinoplasty Specialist in Beverly Hills, Calif., claimed: "It does not appear that Kim Jong-Un had plastic surgery performed  to look like his grandfather, Kim II-sung. Any resemblance appears to be due to the fact they are related, and any similar looks are in the family's genes."

Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer stated: "I think that Kim Jong-Un looks like his grandfather because of their shared genes.  Most people have plastic surgery to improve their look and to look younger."

What do you think? Did Kim Jong-un get plastic surgery to look like his grandfather Kim Il-sung?
